Not all types of adhesive tape are suitable for bonding rolls of artificial grass in every situation. Read our advice in this post.
We would like to draw your attention to the finishing of artificial grass using adhesive tape. The Europe Grass adhesive tape is available in two variants, namely:
Self-adhesive adhesive tape is a ready-made solution for connecting artificial grass seams. This adhesive tape is often used, especially in the do-it-yourself market. All you need to do is roll out the adhesive tape, remove the thin film and then place and press the seams of the two artificial grass pieces together. The advantage is that it is quick and easy to apply. Despite the fact that this product is widely used and sold, there are downsides associated with it. We would like to point out the risks that this product entails.
Tape in combination with two-component adhesive is an alternative and stable solution for connecting your artificial grass seams. You roll out the glue tape, you apply the one or two component glue to the tape and then place the seams of the two artificial grass pieces against each other and press on them. This may be a little more work than the self-adhesive tape, but it is a stable solution. When the artificial grass shrinks due to temperature differences, this product is not flexible and not sensitive to temperature differences. In short, your artificial grass seams are guaranteed to stay close to each other. This solution is definitely our preferred method.
Both products are still available at Europe Grass, but we prefer processing with adhesive tape in combination with one or two component adhesive. The use of self-adhesive tape is at your own risk.
